Information for parents

Last year our staff  developed a very successful remote online learning platform to ensure that your child could learn from home. If a lockdown occurs again our school will re-introduce the process.

Over the years our school has implemented Self Organised Learning Environments (S.O.L.E.) which provides students with opportunities for greater choice, control and agency in how they learn. They have been learning how to take greater ownership of their own learning so when they are learning at home encourage them to take risks and have a go at everything.

Our main remote learning app is called SeeSaw. This platform can be accessed on any device from home which has an internet connection.

We will also utilize Webex for communication and conference calling between teachers and students and for teacher planning and collaboration.

Please ensure that your child/children are supported in their learning...and be patient as it is a stressful time for them and for you. If things are getting difficult or stressful suggest an outside activity or a brain break. Students can always go back to a task later when they feel less anxious.

If you are aware of families that do not have access to the internet please contact the school and we will arrange for a pack of learning tasks to be available.

There are a range of great online learning programs that you can access easily from this website which are great learning opportunities. These are located in the "links to free online learning sites" tab.
Brain Pop - Covid-19 Corona virus movie, quiz and activities for students
This animation link is excellent. It explains what the Corona virus is, it provides simple information for kids, some research and
is a positive message for everyone. There is a quiz students can take at the end and other related activities.
