REMOTE LEARNING - TERM 3
As you would be aware, the Victorian Government has made some significant announcements in relation to arrangements for schools in Victoria for Term 3.
Based on advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, Victorian Government schools in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire will move to remote and flexible learning from Monday July 20th.
The purpose of these arrangements is to reduce the number of these students, parents and guardians moving across metropolitan Melbourne in order to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Our school will implement the existing model which was in place for term 2. DET regulations only allow for specific students to attend school - children in out of home care; or deemed at risk by DHHS; or whose parents are essential service workers who do not have a parent at home (this is the same as term 2). Those students who attend school for on-site supervision will only do the remote learning program.
The majority of students will continue remote learning learning.
Students who required IT equipment have been provided with either a laptop or an ipad.
Our school, along with all other government schools in metropolitan Melbourne will be conducting temperature checks of all students onsite at the start of the day as well as maintaining routine cleaning of surfaces throughout the day. We are also implementing all the recommended hygiene protocols. Any child who has a temperature, parents will be will be asked to collect them from school.
The new arrangements are set out in detail below.
From Monday 20 July, will be moving to remote and flexible learning.
Our teachers will deliver an engaging and well planned program of remote learning.
The Department has a range of options for you to continue to support your students in their home learning, available at the Learning from Home website education.vic.gov.au/homelearning.
The latest information about coronavirus (COVID-19) and schools is on the Department of Education and Training website: education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus
The Victorian Chief Health Officer has confirmed that the use of face masks or coverings by adults or children is not recommended in schools at this time.
And, finally, a reminder that if you, your child, or a family member develops symptoms of a fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell or taste, you should get tested at a coronavirus (COVID-19) testing facility and stay home. This is vitally important to keeping our school community safe.

I will continue to communicate with you as soon as we receive further information.
Yours sincerely,

Health and Hygiene at school
To support the health and well-being of all our students and staff, our school will continue an enhanced cleaning routine throughout the day and all students will be washing their hands frequently using anti-bacterial hand sanitizer.
Our staff will be reminding students of correct health behaviours and protocols each day.
If you child is ill or is feeling unwell, they must not attend school. They must remain home and you must seek medical advice.
The school has purchased electronic temperature scanners which will used as required, mainly at the start of the day.
While the Chief Health Officer has advised that students will not be required to maintain physical distancing at school, we will err on the side of caution and act in accordance with health advice.
Drop off and Pick up and access to the school site
Students will have a daily meeting place where they will meet their teacher each morning.
All staff and students will use anti-bacterial sanitizer each time they come inside the classroom or buildings.
Parents are requested to organize a regular place to meet their child after school. It would be great if parents stayed in their cars.
Parents are not to enter the school grounds for pick up or drop off. You will be asked to leave the school grounds if you do.
If you need to speak to a teacher please ring the school on 9306 7900.
Parents are also requested to stay away from other parents and families until this crisis is over.
This decision has been taken on the basis of the best health advice available to our state.
